Pleasure Ridge Candles is a home-based business in Pleasure Ridge Park, Louisville, Kentucky. We are a family owned and operated candle company dedicated to making the most superior soy wax container candles that money can buy, and we take pride in each and every candle we produce. In early 2008, we began making our own candles as merely a hobby. We've spent countless hours testing everything that goes into making our candles (colors, scents, wax, wicks, and how they all "gel"). With a little luck and word of mouth, seemingly over night, the candle making had become more than just a hobby, it had become a family business. 

The main thing enticing us to make our own candles was that we could have any scent-color combination. We no longer had to purchase candles solely for the scent or color, we could now have the best of both worlds . . . . . and so could our friends, family, and now, our customers. Also, it was rather frustrating that so many of the "other" candles out there were rather costly and lost their scent after one or two burns. We have enjoyed making, selling, and meeting all of the wonderful people that have made us a success.

We would like to think of ourselves as a "Mom & Pops" of candle making, as each and every one of our candles are hand-blended and hand-poured in small batches in our own home. This process has put us where we are today, and is one from which we will never deviate.

Our candles are made with all soy wax, not a soy blend, and we use only the highest quality fragrance oils. All fragrances are pure and uncut, straight from the manufacturer, and are scent consistent from top to bottom. Meaning, we do not top off our candles with wax that is more heavily scented than the rest of the candle. The candle wicks are all cotton, no lead, which is better for the environment and your home. Every candle is perfectly scented, burns evenly (no middle sink hole), and has an approximate burn time of 45 - 48 hours (8 oz.), and 90 - 96 hours (16 oz.).
